Aims & Objectives of the Association:

  • To advance and promote the art and craft of woodcarving in all its forms, locally, nationally and internationally.
  • To form a forum and a focal point for communication between fellow craftspeople of all abilities.
  • To share ideas and materials.
  • To identify and promote standards of acceptable practice within the craft.
  • To encourage new membership at all levels of ability.
  • To provide interested parties with a basic level of instruction to engender and motivate interest in taking up the craft.
  • To provide a focus for exhibitions of woodcarvings.
  • To give demonstrations of woodcarving to bring the craft to the notice of the wider public.
  • To raise the level of aesthetic awareness within the Membership and the public at large.
  • To promote the beauty and pleasure in the experience of the natural, living medium of wood.
